Cyprus — Healthcare System Overview (GESY)

Cyprus runs a national health insurance scheme called GESY (General Healthcare System), which covers permanent residents and Cypriot citizens, and foreign nationals who are registered in the Civil Registry/Migration Department and/or Social Insurance Services and hold a valid residence permit. Many expats supplement GESY with private health insurance to reduce wait times and gain access to a broader choice of doctors and hospitals.
