In India, electricity retail tariffs are set by the State Electricity Regulatory Commission of each state under the Electricity Act 2003, so what you pay depends on your state and your consumer category. Section 62 gives the appropriate commission power to fix tariffs, including for retail sale, and the tariff fixed by the commission applies from the date of its tariff order. State commissions publish their tariff orders on their websites. The government does not publish a single national household figure; use your state commission's current tariff order or your distribution company's bill.
