Key facts

  • Companies file Form A1 and later returns on the CRO CORE system.
  • The CRO fees page lists branch registration of an EEA company (Form F12) at EUR 60 on paper and EUR 50 online.
  • Private company accounts, tax returns and annual returns follow the Companies Act and Revenue deadlines; check the CRO and Revenue.
  • Revenue sets Corporation Tax and PRSI filing for employers.

Steps

  1. Registering for Taxation — Businesses must register for taxation with the Revenue Commissioners, which handles corporate tax, income tax, and value-added tax (VAT)
  2. Appointing a Statutory Auditor — Publicly traded companies must appoint a statutory auditor, whereas private companies may opt out but must still provide shareholders with a Directors' Report
