Mexico — Residency: Permanent Residency

Mexico offers permanent residence to eligible foreign nationals through several immigration pathways established by Mexican law. Applicants may qualify directly in certain circumstances or after holding temporary residence for the required qualifying period. Permanent residents may live in Mexico indefinitely without renewing temporary residence, subject to continued compliance with Mexican law. Permanent residence does not automatically confer Mexican citizenship.
