In Monaco's public hospital, consultations, exams and acts are billed at government-set rates published in the Journal de Monaco. The social-security funds (CCSS, CAMTI, SPME) cover public-sector consultations at 80%, or 100% for exempt patients, and the remaining 20% is the patient's share; third-party payment applies, so insured patients do not pay the covered part upfront. The 2020 ministerial decree sets public outpatient rates at €22.00 for a general practitioner and €28.51 for a specialist. Doctors in private practice must disclose their fees in advance, including how far they exceed the conventional rates. Private-clinic and hospital-stay prices are not published officially; ask the provider for a quote.
