Key facts
- The Credit Bureau is Bank Al-Maghrib's delegate for the credit risk register; it collects identifying data, repayment habits and negative information on individuals and companies from banks, finance companies and microcredit associations.
- Every individual or company has the right to consult their solvency report and to contest it or request corrections if the data is wrong.
- Under Bank Al-Maghrib circular 1/G/2010, lenders must consult the credit bureau before granting a loan.
- Only the applicant or their lender can access a report. Two bureaus operate: Quantik and Creditinfo Maroc.
- Apply in person or by post with a copy of ID (the CNIE, passport or residence card; certified if posted), or download the form from quantik.ma or ma.creditinfo.com and send it by email with the documents.
Steps
- Researching credit history management in Morocco — The Moroccan Credit Bureau (CRBM) might provide information on their website, but it's unlikely the content is translated into English.
- Potential access methods — It's possible that a local bank or financial institution may be able to verify credit history on behalf of a non-resident, but this would require further investigation and possibly a local presence or proxy.
