UAE — Living: Transportation
The Dubai Metro, operated by the RTA, is one of the world's most advanced fully driverless rail systems, covering the Red Line, Green Line, and Dubai Tram, with a Gold Line (serving Expo City) targeted for 2026 completion and a Blue Line extension to Dubai Creek Harbor planned for 2027 — expanding toward 200+ km of track and 60+ stations. There is currently no direct metro/train link between Dubai and Abu Dhabi; the journey uses a combination of Dubai Metro and RTA intercity buses (routes E100, E101, E201, E303, E306, E307, E315, E400, E411, E16, E700 connecting Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Hatta, Fujairah, and Al Ain). Etihad Rail, the UAE's first passenger train network, is scheduled to launch in 2026, connecting all seven emirates and cutting the Abu Dhabi-Dubai journey to just 57 minutes. Four vertiports are planned for Dubai's initial aerial-taxi route network in 2026.
