Cyprus offers a dedicated Digital Nomad Visa for non-EU/EEA nationals who work remotely for foreign companies or clients. The scheme requires proof of stable income (EUR 3,500/month minimum), permits remote work from Cyprus, and allows family members to join as dependents. Permits are limited to 500 annually.
Non-EU nationals relocating to Cyprus typically apply for the Pink Slip (Alien Registration Certificate/ARC), a temporary residence permit administered by the Civil Registry and Migration Department, or pursue Permanent Residency through one of several routes including the fast-track investment category. EU/EEA/Swiss citizens instead register for the Yellow Slip, a simpler, non-expiring registration under free-movement rules.
Cyprus issues residence permits through the Deputy Ministry of Migration and International Protection to both EU and non-EU nationals. Non-EU citizens receive temporary residency permits (pink slip) renewable for 1–3 years, while EU/EEA/Swiss citizens register for Yellow Slip certificates under free-movement rules. Permanent residency and citizenship require separate applications.
Non-EU nationals seeking employment in Cyprus require an entry permit and temporary residence permit (pink slip). Employers may need a permit to employ third-country nationals depending on the employment category. Processing time is approximately one month.
